The story
“Magic is the collective art of imagining.”

Stories can make room for possibility.

Marshall W. Mabry IV is an award-winning actor, writer, and speaker recognized as the youngest speaker in TEDxBroadway history. Their talk, “The Intersectionality of Black Boys and Shakespeare,” has reached thousands of viewers and is taught in classrooms across the country for its candid exploration of identity, art, and representation.

As Juicy in the post-Broadway regional premiere of Fat Ham at The Huntington and Alliance Theatres, Marshall earned the 2024 Elliot Norton Award for Best Actor in a Play. Their work challenges boundaries, amplifies underrepresented voices, and invites audiences to see themselves reflected onstage.

What guides the work

Imagination is a practice.

What if imagination—not imitation—were the real measure of discipline? For those who make the imagined tangible, the stage becomes a place to ask what could be.

The work is to be in conversation with what came before, what is arriving now, and what is waiting to be born. Dreams are built on discipline; discipline is built on habits, training, and the choices made when no one is watching.

Leave every room brighter.
